Theta Tau
A professional co-ed engineering fraternity at UC Berkeley

Brief
Theta Tau is a professional engineering fraternity that recruits new members every semester during rush.
My Role
I came up with the theme of rush and designed the flyer and the rush tshirt for Fall 2017.
20 hours
Objectives
- Come up with a rush theme that is engaging and relatable to engineering college students
Tools
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
Brainstorm
For this flyer, I settled on a Lego theme because it is a part of most engineers’ childhood and can thus establish an instant emotional connection with them. Having this emotional connection was my number one goal in order to increase engagement with the flyer.

Competitive Analysis
Going off of my idea of using Legos as the theme, I browsed the web to get some inspiration on engaging flyers and posters. I found that the bright colors of Legos were ideal for catching attention.
Layout
I first designed the layout of the flyer to establish visual hierarchy using white space.

Visual Interest
For finishing touches, I added some bright colors and depth using shadows.
